The UAE is on the rise in COVID-19 cases so it is tightening Covid rules, including the strict enforcement of an internal mask mandate in the meantime.

UAE more than doubled in a week with the country reporting 1,325 infections on Monday. The National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority said hospitalizations had increased, without giving details. Yet, the number of deaths remained low, and the government did not report any deaths in at least a week.
Authorities in the UAE will strictly enforce the rules regarding wearing facemasks outside the home, metro, bus and everywhere.
Inspections will be increased and violators will be fined AED 3,000.
A government spokesman made the announcement at a news conference on Monday.
